Detoxification in dogs: A clean engine runs better!

Animals that have less flexible joints due to age, injuries, rapid growth, or improper loading can benefit from the building element glucosamine. Glucosamine ensures healthy production and building of joint cartilage. Along with the presence of sufficient joint fluid (synovia), this is a condition for smooth movement and easier mobility after rest.
If the joint does not function properly, this leads to various discomforts. Not only will you notice limitations in movement, but your animal will also show signs of not feeling well and will begin to avoid certain movements. This avoidance can lead to more discomfort and improper loading of other joints. That’s why it’s so important to improve joint function. This can be achieved through controlled loading of the joint, functional movement, and ensuring sufficient muscle mass to support the process. With the right supplement, the condition of the joint cartilage is maintained, and discomfort caused by impaired joint function can be relieved. Although joint damage cannot be completely cured, with proper treatment, degenerative processes can be stabilized.
Which product to choose?
There are various glucosamine products that contain building elements such as glucosamine and chondroitin to build and maintain the quality of joint cartilage. Added minerals such as magnesium, copper, and manganese also contribute to the proper functioning of the joint. Glucosamine is an important building element for hyaluronic acid, which improves the quality of joint fluid. This improves lubrication of the joints and normalizes the loading of joint cartilage. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an essential nutrient for the elasticity and structure of joint cartilage, ligaments, and the joint capsule.
The difference is that some of the products are enriched with herbs that have a calming effect. This makes the discomfort more tolerable for the animal and supports the functional health of joint movement. If there is significant discomfort, choose the version with herbs.
If your goal is mainly strengthening the joints, including the ligaments and joint capsule, the version without herbs is a good choice. In this case, discomfort due to impaired joint function plays a smaller or no role.
Herbal ingredients in the horse version
Since the horse’s body responds differently compared to that of a dog or cat, the calming ingredients for horses and ponies are not the same as those for dogs and cats.
Horse
- Boswellia serrata (frankincense)
- Selenium (as -L-methionine)
- Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil's claw)
- Zingiber officinalis (ginger)
Dog
- Boswellia serrata (frankincense)
- Urtica dioica (nettle)
- Ribes nigrum (black currant)
- Salix alba (white willow)
Since the horse produces vitamin B3 on its own, but dogs and cats do not, vitamin B3 is added to the product for dogs and cats, as it is known to support joint recovery.
Mutually reinforcing supplements
The building materials and phytotherapeutic drops reinforce each other's action. Therefore, it is a good idea to look for a suitable combination for specific complaints. Supplements can also be used well alongside traditional medications.
